These potato balls can also be roasted and will take about 25-30 minutes.
5 large potatoes salt
Wash and peel potatoes. Using a ball cutter, cut as many 2cm (3/4 inch) balls from each potato as possible. Reserve trimmings. Soak potato balls in water for 30 minutes. Drain and pat dry with paper. Preheat oil for deep frying. Fry in two batches until golden. Drain and sprinkle with salt.
Note : Trimmings can be cooked and used to make potato gems and deep frozen for later use.
Serves 4 Cooking time: 4-5 minutes
