Chicken Potato Pie Recipe

You will need :-

1 oz. butter

1 chicken

1 large tin condensed vegetable soup

1 large packet instant potato

2 oz. Gruyere cheese, grated

 

Preparation Time:- 20 minutes

 

Cooking Time: 40 minutes

 

Oven Setting:- 375ºF; Gas Mark 5

 

Melt the butter in a large flameproof dish. Cut the chicken into eight pieces and fry in the butter until golden brown. Add the soup and quarter can of water. Mix well, cover the dish and cook in the centre of the oven for 30 minutes.

 

Make up the potato as directed on the packet. Put into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle. Pipe the potato over the top of the chicken mixture. Sprinkle with cheese.

 

Grill or bake for a further 10 minutes of until the top is golden brown. Serves 4.

 

Quick Tip

 

In no piping nozzle is available, make a foil piping bag by rolling a double thickness of foil into a cone. Put the potatoes in, cut off the end and pipe through this hole. This gives an irregular but very attractive finish.
