Pork Chops with Cider Recipe

You will need :-

4 pork loin chops

1 oz. butter

1 large onion, chopped

1 large cooking apple, peeled, cored and chopped

½ pint cider

salt and pepper

¼ pint double dairy cream

For the garnish:-

parsley sprigs

 

Preparation Time:- 10 minutes

 

Cooking Time:- 55 minutes

 

Oven Setting:- 350°F, Gas Mark 4

 

Fry chops in butter on both sides for 5 minutes. Remove and place in a casserole.

 

Fry onion and apple together for 5 minutes and add to chops. Pour over cider and season with salt and pepper. Cover and bake in a moderate oven for 45 minutes or until the chops are tender.

 

Spoon over the cream and garnish with parsley sprigs.

 

Quick Tip

 

Pork blends well with cider. Try making a stew with pork belly and cider, with a little dairy cream stirred in just before serving.
