Spaghetti with Prawns Recipe

This recipe uses long lengths of macaroni, cheese and ham to make a satisfying mid week lunch or supper dish. Lightly sautéed mushrooms and herbs can also be added or you can use leftover chicken or thin slices of pork ring or spicy sausage instead of the ham.

Oven Setting:- 325°F; Gas Mark 7

 

Equipment:- 8 inch soufflé dish, saucepan, bowl

 

Freezing :- Not recommended

 

Ingredients:

12 oz. spaghetti

12 oz. salt

1 garlic clove

3 tablespoons oil

8 oz. large shelled prawns

10 oz. can of baby clams

8 oz. can of tomatoes

8 oz. freshly ground black pepper

1 tablespoon chopped parsley

 

Method:-

1. Put spaghetti into a saucepan of boiling salted water and cook till al dente.

 

2. Meanwhile, peel garlic. Heat oil in large saucepan, add crushed garlic and fry for 1 minutes Add prawns and fry, stirring, for 2-3 minutes.

 

3. Drain clams and add to pan with tomatoes, juice and seasoning. Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring to break tomatoes.

 

4. Drain spaghetti thoroughly. Add to pan with parsley and toss lightly cover a low heat till well coated. Serve.
