Apple Macaroni Pudding Recipe


You will need.....     4 oz. quick cooking macaroni

                             2 oz. better

                             3 oz. brown sugar

                             10 oz. can apple puree

                             dessert apple slices

Preparation Time    

10 minutes              

 

Cooking Time         

20 minutes    

 

Oven setting          

400ºF; Gas Mark 6      

 

Cook macaroni as directed for 7 minutes. Drain.

 

Melt half the butter in a saucepan, add macaroni and half the sugar. Toss well until sugar has dissolved. Pile half the mixture into a greased ovenproof dish. Add half the apple puree, cover with the remaining macaroni and finally apple puree. Sprinkle top with rest of brown sugar. Top with slices of apple.

 

Dot with remaining butter and bake in oven for 10 minutes to heat apple and caramelize the sugar. Serve very hot.

Serves 4.

 

Quick Tip

 

To cut down on preparation time: if in great hurry, add the apple puree to the cooked macaroni with the sugar and butter in a shallow dish. Mix well and brown under the grill.
