Lemon Schaum Torte Recipe |

3/4 cup sugar 3 tablespoons cornstarch 1/4 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup water 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten 1 tablespoon butter or margarine 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel 1/3 cup lemon juice 1 cup chilled whipping cream
Bake Meringue Shell. Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in medium saucepan. Stir in water gradually. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir at least half the hot mixture in pan. Boil and stir 1 minute.
Remove from heat; stir in butter, lemon peel and lemon juice. Cool to room temperature. Spoon into shell. Chill at least 12 hours. In chilled bowl, beat cream until stiff; spread on filling.
Serves 8 -10.
