Gammon Steaks and Pineapple Recipe

You will need:-

4 gammon steaks, about 6 oz. each

2 oz. butter

1 x 11 oz. can pineapple rings

salt and pepper

few stuffed olives

parsley sprigs

 

Preparation Time:- 5 minutes

 

Cooking Time:- 15 minutes

 

Snip rind of gammon at 1 inch intervals round each steak. Melt butter and add 2 tablespoons pineapple syrup from can.

 

Brush one side of each steak with butter and syrup, season with salt and pepper and grill for 5 minutes. Turn, brush with remaining butter and syrup, season and grill for 5 minutes.

 

Make one cut in each pineapple ring and grill for 3-4 minutes until heated through. Place gammon steaks on serving dish and arrange pineapple rings interlocking with each other. Garnish with olives and parsley and serve with peas and chipped or mashed potatoes. Serves 4.

 

Quick Tip

 

Add a small can pineapple juice and some ice cubes or balls to the syrup remaining from the can. This makes a pleasantly refreshing cool drink.
